The James Webb Space Telescope captured one of the clearest images of the planet Uranus on April 4, 2023. These new images show the planet's ring structure features more clearly.
The image is dominated by a turquoise hue, where the concentrated atmosphere of Uranus is clearly visible. With the wavelengths and extra intensity that Webb reaches, the enclosure of the planet Uranus sees more detail that shows how dynamic it is. The image also reveals 'never-before' details of the rings around Uranus. There are 13 known charts of Uranus, 11 of which are seen in this image of Webb.
Uranus is the coldest of the gas giant planets and has an average surface temperature of approximately -224"C. The planet has 27 known moons.
The largest of these moons is Miranda, which is up to about a third of the planet's diameter, is one of the most seen moons, and is made up of various structures such as the surface, large fissures, and volcanic mountains.
Other major moons of Uranus are Ariel, Umbriel, Titania and Oberon. To achieve this wide-angle view, Webb achieved a short exposure time of 12 with two filters of 1.4 and 3.0 microns.
We leave behind the works of James Webb with great excitement, and finally, we leave you alone with the wonderful images you have taken.
