Space movement of Saturn and its 83 currently known moons

Updated: Apr 8, 2023

We see a simulation of the space motion of Saturn and its 83 currently known moons. Saturn is 6th in order of proximity to the Sun. It is the second largest planet in the solar system. Like Jupiter, Saturn is a gas giant planet. Saturn's density is lower than that of water. In fact, if we can put Saturn in a big enough ocean, we might see it floating on the water.

Among Saturn's 83 known moons, the seven major moons are the most popular. These seven satellites have enough gravity to take on a spherical shape. These moons are Mimas, Enkeladus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan and Iapetus, respectively, according to their distance from the planet. The smallest of these satellites is Mimas, while the largest is Titan. Titan is the second largest moon in the Solar System. It is also known that Titan has a remarkable atmosphere and nitrogen-rich air outside of Earth.
